# Pin and lock issues

Users with triage access to a repository can pin important issues and lock
heated or finished conversations. Both controls are in the issue sidebar.

## Pin an issue

Choose **Pin to top** in the sidebar. Pinned issues show a **Pinned** chip and
appear in a block above the issue list, whatever filter is active. Choose
**Unpin** to remove it. A repository can pin up to three issues.

From the terminal: `cafe issue pin <number>` and `cafe issue unpin <number>`.

## Lock a conversation

In the sidebar's **Conversation** row, choose **Lock** and optionally a reason:
off-topic, too heated, resolved or spam. While an issue is locked, only users
with triage access can comment; everyone else sees a notice with the reason.
Choose **Unlock** in the notice or the sidebar to reopen the conversation.

From the terminal: `cafe issue lock <number> --reason resolved` and
`cafe issue unlock <number>`.

Pull request conversations can be locked the same way from their sidebar, or
with `cafe pr lock`.
